With the introduction of the new A-level system from 2026 onwards, General Paper (GP) has never been more important.
Counting towards your 70 rank points as a core subject, GP covers a broad array of topics from society and culture to science and technology, mandating that students possess keen insights and knowledge of issues of local, regional and global significance.
Tested in the format of Essays (Paper 1), and Comprehension (Paper 2), students will need to develop critical comprehension and thinking skills, as well as be proficient in expressing their knowledge of current affairs in local and global contexts.
